Uniforms and Grooming

All students must wear their uniform with pride. The complete uniform must be worn to and from school.

Uniforms include wearing ID’s to all classes, school functions and trips.

Males

  • Grades 7-11 boys must wear full brown khaki pants and shirts.
  • Grades 12 -13 boys wear white shirts with appropriate tie and khaki pants. They are also expected to have a navy blue Blazer with the school crest.

White or cream Dockers pants are not allowed. Pants must not be close fitting or tight. It must be made from dark khaki material. We expect that there will be at least 4 inches of free space at the ankles

     

Females

  • Grades 7& 8 girls wear white blouses, grade 9-10 girls wear yellow blouse with full tunic.
  • Grade 11 girls wear yellow blouses, navy blue skirts with appropriate belt and tie.

Tunics and skirts must be no less than two inches below the knee, have six gores and not tight.

N.B. all students must wear the appropriate crest and have their identification cards visible.

Sports Uniforms
  • Boys: school supplied shirt or house shirt and jersey shorts
  • Girls: Navy Blue skirt (flared or pleated) with shorts and school supplied blouse or house blouse

 

 

Girls wear black shoes (with heels not higher than one and one-half inches) and black or navy blue socks. Boys wear black or brown shoes with matching socks and belt. The belt must be leather or leatherette. The buckle must not be large.

 

Students are allowed to wear a black or navy blue sweater only for health reasons only. A medical report will be required from a doctor.

 

Girls are allowed to wear black or navy blue clips.

  • No hairpiece or braids must be worn to school.
  • Caps must not be worn on the school compound.
  • At all times hair should be properly groomed. Boys should wear their hair neatly trimmed on one level.
  • Designs in haircut are not allowed.

 

Neither nail polish nor nail extensions are allowed at school.

The only jewelry allowed is a wristwatch or a medical bracelet. This means that no earrings are allowed, whether for males for females of any grade level. Female students pursing the Associate degree programmes may wear on pair of small gold knobs or hoops (no more than 1.5 cm in diameter) only.

 

We do not conduct full body searches; however, it is expected that the students will not have any visible tattoos, piercings or other signs of body modification. This is the expectation for all.

 

Our school is founded on the concept of Black pride and Black excellence, as such, our students are encouraged not to use creams, lotions or soaps to lighten, tone or cause their complexion to lighten. If this is observed, an immediate intervention will ensue for the period required until a Counsellor determines that the programme of intervention is no longer necessary.
